Each wall clock is handcrafted from solid hardwoods including the gears and pendulum. Woods include oak, cherry, maple, mahogany and walnut. Other materials include metal axels, nylon bearings, and metal weights and chains.

Woods for the clocks are chosen based on artistic choice, with consideration given to the specific needs of the individual components. For instance, shafts on the clocks are made of fine grain woods as course grained woods would split when cut to the fine detail required. The large gears are made from Baltic birch veneered plywood for accuracy, strength and stability, particularly in humid climates.
