Curly Ambrosia Maple is used to create this relatively open and wide hat. The figure resembles ribbons of satin lightly bunched just below the surface and a few small holes from the efforts of Ambrosia Beetles punctuate the work. A narrow streak of silver-grey spalting dramatically accents a portion of the crown and gentle color variations energize the entire piece.
