Hardwood Paddles with a Bent Shaft by Sawyer Paddles & Oars
These expertly engineered paddles have the shaft bent at an angle to the plane of the blade to maximize the efficiency of your stroke. As the paddle is pulled from the stern toward the bow this design ensures that the blade is optimally perpendicular to the surface so that more of your effort goes into pushing the water backwards and less into lifting the water (and subsequent cavitation).
You may also consider the ergonomic designs as they greatly reduce the stresses and strains on your wrists, joints and back by taking the twist out of your grip and putting it into the paddle shaft. They may look odd but once you try them you will wonder why anyone ever uses an ordinary shaft.
